PSC Visit To CDA
Formal + Hot Ahz
Today PSC is having a visit to CDA. Janice brought me along to help her out. Say the truth i didn't know whats this is about. Because last year during the Dry-Run something happen. Then Janice never brought me along. So this will be my first time for this PSC thing.
As usual, i come to office first. Between 8.30am to 10am, was quite busy. I run through everything to make sure, all is ready before we go. Things that i prepared
1) 3 Flag in different colors (I used paper to make de)
2) 2 Laptop, 1 is spare in case the other one is not functioning properly.
3) Some colored print out to be distributed to the PSC member to look through while running the slides.
4) 3 colors of little dots to be paste on those who are attending the meeting. (This will tell who is in which group)
5) Gifts for the PSC members & their Secretariats
*Is should be it.
At around 10am, Janice & I take a cab down to CDA. When we reach there, we head to the meeting room which they will be using later. Then Janice and the SCDF in charge start checking see everything is ready. List of things that i remembered -
1) Name plate printed out. (Sitting arrangement, arranged by Janice).
2) After she show me the list, then i start putting them as what is planned.
3) SCDF guys start putting plate + cups + 1 bottle of mineral water at each name plate.
4) I start putting the colored print out at each of the spot which will have 1 PSC sitted.
5) Test out the slides, see is it projecting properly. (They even prepare a spare projector, one on top of the wall. One spare on the floor, both are prepared to project at the projecting screen.
**I think this should be it.
A while later, one of the SCDF officer inform us that Commissioner SCDF (Mr James Tan). At around 11.45am, he will come in and take a look to see is everything ok. So all of us including me stand at one corner waiting for him to come.
Minutes later, he pop in. Then he start asking some questions. The only question that i remembered clearly is -
1) So later at what time will you all be bringing in the flaskes of tea?
2) Remember the tea must be "HOT"?
Then one of the officer in charge replied :
"Yes, Sir 15minutes before the meeting start our guys will bring in the flaskes of teas.
Replied from Commissioner SCDF :
"Ok Good, so everything ready."
"Lets go and eat Lunch."
Janice left her wallet with me to look after. So i take out the wallet pass to her. Then one of the officer says : "Don't need to buy, they catered food for those help out in the PSC visit."
So she pass back the wallet for me to keep, i kept her wallet with me for the whole day (^_^")
I also joined them (-_-""), there is one side specially prepared for us. Different side from the last time i got my food from. I still remembered the days, when i was having clerk course here. The food we ate during our lunch time. Are "TERRIBLE !!!", can remember clearly the rubber mutton. Chew and chew and chew won't break de.

One thing which i also remember quite clearly. I sat at the same table as Commissioner (^_^"). Wonder how many SCDF nsf got this type of chance to sit same table as Commissioner to have lunch with. I was just horizontally opposite him, after our food. There is also fruits prepared for him, he even ask us to eat the fruits. ... Other then Janice & me, there are 3 more high ranking officer around him. The 6 of us sharing the fruits, Wao (-_-""). One more thing to add on the food. It taste much much better then last time.

After our food, we head back to the meeting room. As those are suppose to attend the meeting arrives. After those from other Home Team arrives, then slowly one by one. The PSC member arrives, as what Janice mentioned to me. They are very easily recongnised, as they are really very "senior".
I have 2 things to do
1) When they arrive, looking at the name list. I will need to give out the 3 colors stickers. I have no problem giving to those SM, SDs, Dirs & HODs. I almost recongnise everyone from MHA, as those from Home Teams or those who sent their rep. They will have their name tab on their uniform. But those PSC members, hmm hmm. Need some help from some of their Secretariats. Aound 1hour of walking them to the room, then giving them the stickers. Finally part 1 of my job is done.
After i have given all of them their stickers, my job is done. I proceed to walk around, looking for place to waste my time at. I try to find their library, but the admin guy told me that the library is been move to another side of CDA. The location where the admin office is at, used to be the library. Luckily the admin office got chair to sit & also got magazines. I was told that the meeting will roughly go on for around 1hr & 30mins. After spending around 1hr & 15mins at the admin office i changed location to the canteen.
Because from the admin office i cant see the meeting room. I need to keep track they finished their meeting already. From canteen i can glance at the place that they will have break straight after the meeting. Finally they are out, i move over to Janice there checking does she need anything. 30minutes later, they are being gather in their groups. Being lead by their leader they are be showed around.
First Stop - The parade square. At the parade square display all the vehicles from SCDF, if i didn't remember wrongly (I saw 9 of them, many right). I always thought they have around 4 or 5 , eg. FIre Engine, Fire Bike, Ambulance & the newest Red Rhino.
Second & Third stop - They are being brought to tge training ground for firefighters. While they are being showed around to the second stop. I was already getting ready at the last stop. Because my 2nd thing to do, is to distribute their goodie bag to them. It is separated to 3 different type, 1 specially for the PSC member. 2nd for the PSC secretariats and lastly the 3rd goodie bag is for those attend the meeting and want to have a goodie bag. Cos inside PSC members bag they have a special gift from MHA inside, then for their secretariats inside also have another gift from MHA. The rest are just normal SCDF goodie bags.
After everything ended, went back to the room clear everything. Then Janice, Senkodan & I took a cab back to office.
