First Day Of NS Life
Interesting Day
Haiz, finally i got my turn to serve my NS. I already waited for almost 1 year and 2 months, after i completed my Higher Nitec in May 2004.Have to report to CD base at Jurong. It is the first day of my ns life, so my parents will be going with me. They will be given a briefing there.At 10.40am, we reached Chinese Garden MRT station. We waited for their shuttle bus to sent us to the training camp. After boarding onto the shuttle bus, we reach there around 20-25min later.
Wao in the camp look so different, i am very curious what type of training will i get. I sat down there waiting to be called. "Yawnzzz...." Sat for almost a hour plus. Finally left with around 30 people around. Finally is our turn to go for our short briefing. Carrying all those stupid barang barang into the hall. In the hall we have to say CD pledge. After the pledge we sit down and the Captain start to give his speech to all our parents.
During his speech i heard him mention we are suppose the give all our barang barang to our parents to take home. Because we will need our bag to but our Uniform 4. I felt puzzle, then i think i should be hearing things. So i didnt pass my things to my parents. Zzzzz... Finally, he finishes his speech then he ask his assistant to give out some forms (Personal Particular forms again... I dont know how many time i had to fill that up, i think got at least 3 - 4 times i did that before) for us to fill up.
Finally form is done, we are instructed to leave our belonging at the hall. Then we will "Walk" in 3's to the canteen for our lunch. The food at there is quite nice. The whole group of us around 30 ppl sat down together for our lunch. Then i take a few glance at all of them, Hmm.. Only 7 chinese. Haiz, sianz.
After our lunch, we fall in outside the canteen then proceed (walk) back to the hall in 3s. Reaching outside the hall, we are instructed to go in to get our belonging row by row. After all of us had get our belonging. We boarded two CD Class 3 lorry, then they drive us to CDA (Civil Defence Academy). Hmm, while on the lorry i am wondering how come we are leaving the training ground. After boarding the lorry around 15min - 20 min journey.
We finally reached our destination, we disaboard the lorry. Then we sat down on the floor. Waiting for our instructor to come lead us. Finally we get to meet up with our instructor. He give us a short speech on what we are going to do for the next few days in CDA, and also what to do and what we shouldn’t do.
“Yawnzzz…” Why these guys here talk so much. Falling asleep already, last night pack my barang barang till so late now then I know, I wont be staying in. That means every day 8 – 5.30pm, after 5.30pm we are allowed to leave CDA and go home. But must report back to our class room at 7.50 latest. Ok let me go back to where he is going to lead us to,
1) He brought us to 1 of the room, we all sat down outside. Then the first 2 who sat nearest to the door go in first. Haiz, I am 1 of the 2 who get in first for our HAIRCUT. Keke, never mind. My hair also not very long I love to shave skin head or botak so I wont mind, used to it already. But for the others, there were so many types of hair styles. Long one (Lion King), Super hard one (Clay so much, he thought his head got skin allergy, so he would be excuse for the haircut who knows. They pour water to soften his clay and continue with his haircut.)
2) Finally all our head look alike, lolz. Then we were lead to their store, for our Uniform and boots. Wa damn sianz still carrying those stupid barang barang I brought with me. We each receive 2 set of Uniform 4, 2 pair of socks, 1 pair of boots, 1 pair of gutter, 1 pair of something to put on our uniform 4 (Shoulder that part),1 cap, 1 belt (look funny), 1 bag and that’s all of it. I sqeeuce all this things into the bag which is given. Damn, it look like I am running away from home like that 2 super big bag. …
3) Wao it was already around 4.30pm already. Instructor call us fasten our footstep or else go home later then 5.30pm not his fault. So we fasten our pace to our class room. Which we were going to spent the rest of our course(days) there. I look around nothing special about the classroom. Just look like normal classroom in schools. In the classroom, Capt Loy gave us a talk on about why are we in this course (5BE Course) and what will we be going through during our course in CDA. He says we are in 5BE because all of us are "SICK" having medical problem (eg. High blood pressure, heart attack, operation before and some of the sickness) which cant take in camp training. I am wondering, "... Am i sick? Work as Lifeguard before, swim at least 4 times per week ..."
4) Keke, don’t tell you now what the course is about. Will tell you later in my next topic :p
